Hey Bronte,
It'd be best to place the Solar Cat Repeller in the path of the cat's entry point. The device uses a PIR sensor, it won't activate until it detects some movement.

Hi the neighbour’s non desex cats keep using my garden as a toilet at night. It’s been an ongoing problem and we had 3 litters of kittens last year in the garden I have a small dog. Is there a way of turning it off during the day so she can go outside, plus another neighbour right beside us has a dog as well so don’t want it to affect her with the noise. Hello, we have indoor cats and the cat across the road comes over and sprays on our front door. If I put one of these in a plant on our front porch, will it only trigger when it senses (outdoor) movement? Or does it always emit the sound? I don't want my indoor cats to be affected by it. Hey Nat,
The Solar Cat Repeller uses a PIR sensor on the front and is only activated when movement is detected. The unit has front facing speakers, so most sound will be emitted forward. If your cat is indoors, then I doubt they would be able to hear much of what the unit is doing, as the walls of the house should block most of the sound.

My neighbour has a dog and our fence is wooden will the dog be deterred from the area as well even if it’s facing the other way on the other side of the fence ? I love my neighbours dog it’s the outdoor roaming cats that are the issue Brooke Munro asked on 22 October 2024

Hey Brooke,
There is a chance that the dog could hear the Solar Cat Repeller, as typically ultrasonic fequencies used for cats will be heard by dogs as well.

If there's some solid obstructions in the way, this should block some of the sound.

Some ways to get around this would be to place the device at the cat's entry point, not in the backyard where it ends up. If the cat is mainly coming in at night, switch the device off during the day, if your neighbours dogs spends their nights inside.

Will ultrasonic products work indoors. I have a cat that sprays on walls and the carpet. I have tried every spray and natural product but nothing deters him. My carpet is ruined. Do you have a product l can use in the one room her sprays? Helen asked on 16 October 2024

Hey Helen,
Yes, ultrasonic units like the Solar Cat Repeller can work indoors as well. The unit is designed for external use, so you would need to charge it with the provided cable, as you wouldn't really get sufficient sunlight to charge via the solar panel.

This is fantastic! Haven’t had a cat near our back door since we got it. We had tried everything to try to stop cats from spraying our screen doors… they haven’t even sprayed the front or side doors since we got the repeller … not sure why but it’s a very happy outcome! Prior to purchasing the Repeller we had multiple cctv alarms per night which were the neighbourhood cats having a party in our back yard. It took several nights for us to find the best location for the repeller and a few nights for the cats to realise the annoying noise was not going away.
Just checked the cctv footage for the past week and zero cats. Absolutely brilliant

Love this product. It worked the moment we installed it. We had neighbouring cats using our garden for a toilet and our indoor cats were getting anxiety from it (peeing indoors). All has stopped once we used the solar cat reseller.
