The Repelling Cat Clear Square spikes will not cause any lasting damage to the cats spike, the tip is blunted, it will be uncomfortable for the cat to step on, which will act as a deterrent.
The spikes will not deter or prevent rats, they're too small for the spikes.

Command strips would work just fine with the Repelling Cat Clear Square Spikes as they're rather light. This would give you a non permanent option that won't damage the paint.

You can attach the Repelling Cat Clear Square Spikes in a couple of different ways. Each square has holes in it for screw mounting, you can also use a clear silicon based adhesive to attach them, or using some outdoor tack for a less permanent installation.

Have placed on the bins – stopped the cats from jumping on
We have a very active kitty that loves to scratch windows and mirrors at night. These spikes are a perfect repellent. We use them to block any areas which we don’t want her to access when we sleep. We also used them to train our cat not to jump on kitchen bench. The spikes are fairly soft yet firm enough for her to avoid them without hurting her in any way, perfect solution.

I got these to wrap around my trees to help stop my cat from climbing and jumping over the fence. It stopped her for a few weeks but now she’s realised she can jump over these. You’d need at least 2 or 3 of these wrapped around a tree to actually stop her from getting out, but then it’ll look like you’ve got pointy bubble wrap all over your trees which isn’t a great look. Overall happy with these and will probably order more soon to expand my spiky tree collection.
Fantastic to use around my indoor bird cage to stop cats jumping up and trying to grab the hanging base.
