Not sure yet. My home is 1 storey but has a high roof that is almost large enough for to convert to a 2nd storey. Our bbq area is under a vergola and therefore semi contained. Rodent presence is noted by the spread of white absorbent material from the underside of the bbq.
We purchased 2 devices and initially placed 1 in the house and the 2nd in the roof. All seemed successful for about a week – then we noted a spread of the white beads again. I then took the device from the roof and put it outside near the bbq.
Not long after we noted some movement in the roof – so the device was returned to the roof.
Not long later we noted a possum on the vergola!
So a few questions: –
1. Are possums rodents? I would prefer not to harm a possum.
2. Should we have bought 3 devices?
The 2 pestrols I purchased have proven to be very effective. The rats we had in the roof have disappeared at last.

We are on a farm and this product is brilliant
I can’t deny the effectiveness of this device. We had rats in our cavity walls that kept us up all night long. Pest control set up some baits on the roof however did not help. Frustrated by lack of quality sleep and terrified that they might chew through the walls and enter the house, my boss told me about this product. As soon as I plugged it in, that very same night, the sounds had disappeared completely. About 1 month later, I unplugged the device briefly and forgot to plug it back in. In less than 48 hours the rats were back in the walls. It’s like they were waiting! As soon as I realised I forgot to plug the device back in, I immediately put it back and within minutes could hear them scrambling in the walls from discomfort. In less than 24 hours, they were gone and we were back to sleeping peacefully! 10/10 I would recommend!
