How to Use

Cuttings

1. Select Wisely: Choose healthy end growth for your cuttings, ensuring they are between 50mm to 150mm in length.
2. Angle Matters: Cut on an angle or have a ‘heel’ ripped from the parent branch for optimal results.

Timing

• For most plants: it is Late Summer or early Autumn.
• Winter-flowering shrubs (Camellia, Daphne, etc.): Propagate around December.
• Spring-flowering shrubs (Azaleas): Cuttings are ready in Autumn.
• Roses: Best taken in October from new wood.

Mediums

• Use free-draining and light mediums for the initial rooting stage.
• A mix of peat moss and sand is commonly recommended.
• Ordinary garden soil or sandy loam works if it’s free-draining and uncompacted.
