    Terminator Mosquito Killer and Trap

    The Pestrol Terminator Mosquito Trap represents an advanced outdoor insect control solution designed to effectively reduce mosquito populations across a 1500m² area. This trap employs multiple techniques to attract and eliminate flying insects, including a unique photocatalyst process that generates carbon dioxide, simulating human breath. By integrating a built-in heat plate, UV oscillating light, and a powerful vacuum fan, the trap mimics human prey characteristics to lure mosquitoes, moths, midges, and other small flying insects. The waterproof design allows for continuous 24/7 operation, with research indicating optimal placement in shaded areas to maximize capture rates. Its multi-method approach includes carbon dioxide generation, heat simulation, ultraviolet attraction, and a dark color scheme that collectively increases mosquito capture efficiency by up to four times.

    The optional Cigarette lighter adaptor (12 vaults) – makes the Terminator Mosquito Trap the ideal companion for all outdoor activities, even away from home. Camping / Boating and mosquitoes don’t have to be a problem anymore.

    How it Works

    • Carbon Dioxide—is the primary lure used and is produced by the Photocatalyst reaction of UV rays from the light source radiating onto a panel coated with Titanium Dioxide (TiO2).
    • CO² Photocatalyst—The Terminator Mosquito Trap can produce small amounts of Co2, which simulates what humans exhale.
    • Attractant—is a chemical produced by the human body and is sometimes referred to as “cow’s breath in a can” due to its smell. Mosquitoes seek this scent to find prey. The attractant emulates the human body odours and increases the catch rate up to 4 times. The attractant will last about 3-4 weeks.
    • Heat—the human body gives off heat, so too does this Terminator Mosquito Trap mimicking human prey.
    • Ultraviolet Light—mosquitoes are drawn towards ultraviolet light. The Terminator Mosquito Trap has an oscillating light to lure mosquitoes.
    • Dark Colour—mosquitoes are lured towards dark colours. This Terminator Mosquito Trap has been designed to take advantage of this.
    • Fan—when mosquitoes are lured and getting closer to the Terminator Mosquito Trap, they will be sucked into the catch container by a strong vacuum.

It may take several weeks of use to reduce the population to the point that your mosquito problem is under control. Your Terminator Mosquito Trap is not designed to compete with humans nearby, e.g. at a barbecue. When planning an outdoor event, you must operate the Terminator for an extended time before the event. It is advised that you run the Terminator 24/7 during the height of your mosquito season to ensure you can enjoy your outdoor activities.

    What To Expect

    While the Mozzie Trap will begin to catch immediately if there is any mosquito activity in the vicinity, it may take 6-8 weeks of use to reduce local populations to the point that breeding cycles are interrupted. You may discontinue the use of The Terminator at this point but subsequent re-infestation will occur after rain.

    How long is the lead cable? Where should the unit be placed in the backyard? Roger asked on 7 December 2024

    Thank you for the update! The lead cable for the Pestrol Terminator Mosquito Killer and Trap is 6 meters long. This provides ample length for positioning the unit in your backyard.

    For optimal placement, it’s best to position the trap in a shaded area, away from strong winds, and close to areas where mosquitoes are likely to gather, such as near standing water or dense foliage.

    Hey Danny,
    The Terminator Mosquito Killer and Trap is designed for insects. It traps by attracting the insects via a UV light, then a fan in the centre will pull them through into the trap chamber below where they dehydrate and die. The way this trap works wouldn't trap Geckos.

    Hey Robbie,
    That little brass valve on your Terminator Mosquito Killer and Trap is not a function we typically use here, but you can use that valve to connect a CO2 cannister to the trap to help lure in mosquitoes.
    As these cannisters are not readily and easily available, we always recommend using the Terminator Boosters if you need to up the catching rate on your machine.

      Rubbish – it died after 6 months & Pestrol refused to refund it.
      They admitted it was faulty, and sent it back “repaired”, only it was missing parts and more broken than before.
      If you do buy one, good luck with their terrible customer service when you have to inevitably return it.

      Globe died after short time. Purchased 2 replacements to make most of postage. Within a month the transformer is dead. Replacement transformer is out of stock. I guess I’m not the only one. Waste of money and belongs in the garbage as pictured. Selling 2 replacement globes if interested plus postage haha
