Features
- Active ingredient Brodifacoum is the world’s most effective rodenticide
- Kills rats and mice in just one feed
- Controls species which are resistant to Warfarin and Bromadiolone
- Contains human taste deterrent which prevents accidental consumption by children
- No touch, no mess – can be nailed in place, perfect for damp or dry areas
How to Use
- Eliminate as far as practical, all alternative food sources.
- To access wax blocks without touching them, place a fingernail in one of the slots below and pull back the cardboard flap. If necessary, push wax block out from the front.
- Set out bait stations in under cover areas frequented by rats and mice in and around buildings. Nail or wire in place if necessary.
- Alternatively, wax blocks may be secured in bait stations. Do not place bait stations more than 2m away from buildings. Place wax blocks so as to prevent access by non-target animals, using tamper resistant bait stations where necessary and fixing the stations securely with wire or nails.
- For mice use single blocks at intervals of 2 to 3m. For rats, use 1 to 3 blocks (depending on the level of infestation) at intervals of 5 to 9m.
- Record the number and locations of bait stations for the purpose of replacement and later removal. Inspect and replace wax blocks that have been consumed. If eaten quickly then increase the number of blocks used. Remove wax blocks when rodent activity ceases.
- Look for and collect dead rats or mice and dispose of carcasses safely by burning or by wrapping in paper, placing in plastic bag and putting in an approved landfill garbage. Ensure wax blocks are removed when rodent activity has ceased.
Tips & Tricks
- Eliminate all alternative food sources.
- Try not to touch the bait, as it deters rats and mice from consuming it.
- If using the option to nail in place, use gloves.
- Rats tend to remove Talon wax blocks, carefully pinning the blocks in place though the centre will prevent a single animal taking the block, allowing more rats to feed from the block.
- In general, once poisoning has commenced, rodents will be attracted to the nearest available source of water. Ensuring sources of water inside the building are covered or removed will assist in ensuring rodent leave the building before dying
- Use for controlling wildlife or rodent like animals requires permission from wildlife authorities.
- Where it is suspected that additional rodents may be entering the building or activity has not stopped after approximately 2 weeks, then it is recommended to try pulse baiting. This involves baiting for 3 to 4 days then taking them away for approximately 1 week, then baiting again for 3 to 4 days and repeat the cycle until activity ceases. In more infested areas 3 to 4 cycles will usually be sufficient.
- Only one feed required to kill rodents within 14 days. If activity continues then additional rodents are present.
- Most deaths occur 4 to 7 days after consumption, but deaths may occur for up to two weeks, making baiting for at least 2 weeks is necessary.
