Hi there, I have a no mow lawn. Just checking this product will kill any monocots but not the dichondra or clover. Thanks, Anna Anna asked on 18 February 2025

Hey Anna,
Surefire Cannonade Herbicide is a selective, post-emergent herbicide designed to control annual and perennial grasses (monocots) without harming broad-leaved plants like dichondra and clover (dicots). It contains the active ingredient Fluazifop-P, which is effective against a wide range of grass species, including Couch Grass and Kikuyu Grass, but it does not control broadleaf weeds or plants like dichondra and clover.

Therefore, Surefire Cannonade Herbicide should be safe to use on your no-mow lawn to target monocots without damaging your dichondra or clover. However, do a small test area first before treating the entire lawn, and always follow the product label instructions carefully to ensure safe and effective use.

Is this ok to target couch that has invaded my mondo grass Kerrie asked on 15 February 2025

Hey Kerrie,
Surefire Cannonade Herbicide is not recommended for targeting couch grass that has invaded mondo grass. While Cannonade is effective against couch grass, it can also harm mondo grass. Mondo grass is sensitive to many herbicides, including those containing fluazifop-P (the active ingredient in Cannonade)

Using Cannonade on mondo grass could potentially damage or kill it along with the couch grass.

Is this safe to apply if I have dogs? Is there a withholding period before you can let them back into the yard? If so how long untill it’s safe to let them back out ? Donna Clark asked on 10 February 2025

Hey Donna,
Surefire Cannonade Herbicide is generally considered safe for use around pets like dogs. It is labeled as safe for birds, fish, bees, and beneficial insects, which suggests a lower toxicity profile compared to some other herbicides. Following the label on the product for best results, and always keep your pets away while mixing or applying the product.

There is no specific withholding period mentioned for pets in the available information. However, as a precaution, it's advisable to keep pets off the treated area until the herbicide has dried completely, typically within a few hours after application. This ensures minimal risk of exposure through skin contact or ingestion.

In summary, while Surefire Cannonade Herbicide is considered safe for use around pets, it's essential to follow safety guidelines and keep pets away until the treated area is dry to minimize potential risks.
