FAQ

Can Surefire Buffalo Herbicide be used in combination with other lawn care products for enhanced results?

Yes, Surefire Buffalo Herbicide can be used in conjunction with other lawn care products, such as fertilizers and pest control agents, to enhance overall lawn health. However, it is essential to check the compatibility of the products and follow label instructions for both products. Conducting a small-scale test before mixing can help ensure safe and effective application.

How does Surefire Buffalo Herbicide impact beneficial insects like bees and butterflies in treated areas?

Surefire Buffalo Herbicide is made to target weeds without harming beneficial insects like bees and butterflies. However, it is always a good practice to avoid spraying when these insects are actively present in the area. By applying the product during less active periods, you can minimize potential impacts on these beneficial species.

Is Surefire Buffalo Herbicide suitable for use in areas with high rainfall or during periods of flooding?

While Surefire Buffalo Herbicide is effective in various conditions, it should be used with caution in areas with high rainfall or during periods of flooding. Excessive moisture can lead to reduced efficacy or increased leaching into water bodies. Always monitor weather forecasts and soil conditions before application to ensure optimal results and minimize environmental impact.

What to do?. If as required "Allow 3-7 days after application of Surefire Buffalo Herbicide before watering your lawn" does this mean that yoiu should not apply Surefire if there is the chance of rain in the next 3-7 days. And, what are the conditions that determine if you san water after 3 days or should wait for 7 days. Thanks Brian asked on 4 February 2025

Hey Brian,
When using Surefire Buffalo Herbicide, it is generally recommended to avoid applying the product if there is a high chance of rain within the next 3 to 7 days. This is because rain can wash away the herbicide before it has a chance to be fully absorbed by the weeds, reducing its effectiveness.

In general, it's safer to wait closer to 7 days if possible, to ensure the herbicide has fully taken effect and to minimize the risk of washing it away prematurely. Always follow the specific instructions on the product label for the best results.

is this safe to use around small dogs? Caroline Gillespie asked on 20 August 2024

Hey Caroline,
Surefire Buffalo Herbicide, like many herbicides, can be used safely around small dogs as long as certain precautions are taken:

Keep Dogs Away During Application: Ensure that your dogs are kept away from the area while you're applying the herbicide.

Wait Until Dry: After application, allow the treated area to completely dry before letting your dogs back onto the lawn. This drying time can vary depending on weather conditions but is crucial to prevent any potential exposure.

Store Safely: Keep the herbicide container securely stored, out of reach of pets.

By following these precautions, you can minimize any risk to your pets. Please always refer to the product label and use as directed.

Should Sir Walter buffalo be fertilised before applying Surefire Buffalo? Mike Thomas asked on 4 August 2024

Hey Mike,
When applying Surefire Buffalo Herbicide to Sir Walter buffalo grass, it is generally recommended to follow a few preparatory steps to ensure the herbicide's effectiveness and the health of the lawn:

1. Timing of Fertilization: Fertilizing should be done at least a couple of weeks before applying the herbicide. This allows the grass to strengthen and be in good health, which helps it better withstand any stress from the herbicide application.

2. Active Growth: Ensure that the lawn is actively growing. Herbicides are most effective when the grass is not under stress and is actively taking up nutrients and water.

3. Watering: Water the lawn adequately after fertilization and before herbicide application to ensure that the grass is healthy and not stressed due to drought.
