Single Catch Pigeon Trap

Single Catch Pigeon Trap is the perfect way to catch troublesome larger birds at your place.

This ready assemble bird trap is part of a larger range of BIRD TRAPS that Pestrol offers to commercial and Home end-users for all types of applications.

We have found that whole corn is generally the preferred bait because most smaller, non-targeted birds cannot feed on the large kernels. Other grains, popcorn, sunflower seeds, peas, greens, dried bread, fig bars or peanuts also can be effective if the birds are feeding on similar food.

These bird traps are a favourable solution to humanely trap them. Once caught you can simply drive the bird to release at another location.

Setting our pigeon traps is very easy and effective. We recommend feeding the birds for at least a few days prior to introducing the trap. This will result in more pigeons coming to the area looking for food, allowing you to gain their trust in the process. Upon acquiring the birds’ trust, you’ll find that they will be more willing to go into the cage. In turn, this will make your pigeon trap more successful in the catching process.

How do I set this thing? The gate keeps dropping down and won’t stay on the perch trigger to keep it open Jack scott asked on 14 December 2023

Hey Jack,
To set the Single Catch Pigeon Trap, you just need to balance the door on the little metal rod that's connected to the perch trigger, should just balance once set. Always try to set your trap on a stable surface so it doesn't sway.

  1. My client has a major pigeon problem with 15-20 pigeons nesting on roof, window awnings and air conditioner units of the house that I’m extensively renovating. Destroyed nests and several eggs plus 40m of Bird netting put around house was used to stop birds nesting on the window awnings and air conditioner units. Over a 2 and half week period 9 birds were captured and disposed of. Traps are effective, a very small modification was made to latching bar with small ‘V’ notch made with a file as the door would continually slip off when set. We have tried 2 types of feed, ‘Rolled Oats’ and ‘All Bran’ both work well.
Initial success with catching 7 birds over 2 days was dampened by no birds caught for 7 days straight. Pigeons would eat feed right up to the trap activation bar and go no further. Birds are very weary, differing feed and position of traps helped, having traps set in the morning was best as birds would predominately feed in the morning along with stopping birds from getting to usual nesting areas and continually scaring them off. Yes, I recommend this product, we purchased 3 due to high number of birds. We still have pigeons to deal with so ongoing problem for us to deal with and I’ll be using traps until problem solved.

  2. The product was fine once I worked out a way to keep the trapdoor up. What was lacking was the follow up to the message I left on the 1800 number. No point having staff answering queries if they have no idea how the product works. I am still waiting for a call from someone in the warehouse … request was lodged a month ago!!

  10. I’d give this 6 stars if I could.
Simple and effective design… I caught the 2 pest birds (Indian mynas) on the first day using this trap.
I added a small mirror to lure them in.
I was considering traps costing 4x as much … glad I got this one instead.
