Selleys Autofix Marine Sealant

Selleys Autofix Marine Sealant is a UV, water, weather, salt spray, vibration and detergent resistant sealant that provides excellent adhesion to marine materials. It cures to a tough flexible waterproof seal and resists temperatures between -60 degrees Celcius to +240 degrees Celcius.

Can be used for:

• Sealing gaps, joints, cracks and for bedding of fittings
• Windows
• Hatches
• Fitting and instruments
• Locks nuts, bolts and plates to prevent vibration
• Insulated and waterproofs electrical connections
• Bonds and repairs most marine materials

Suitable for:

• Glass
• Painted and varnished wood
• Fibreglass
• Most Plastics
• Most Metals

How to use:

1. Thoroughly clean surfaces with mineral turpentine and dry.
2. For 75g tube – pierce blind seal in a tube and fit nozzle.
3. For Cartridge – cut nipple tip-off and screw on nozzle.
4. Cut nozzle to the required size.
5. Extrude with steady pressure, ensuring sealant is pushed onto the surface or into the joint.
6. If used as an adhesive or gasket, apply a sealant to one surface only and bring it together within 3 minutes.
7. Tool to a smooth finish, with a spatula, dipped in detergent water.
8. Clean up before sealant cures with mineral turpentine.
9. Cured sealant can only be removed by scraping or cutting.
10. After use, remove the nozzle and replace the cap on the tube.
11. Allow the sealant to cure in the nozzle and remove before next use.

Limitations:

• Not suitable for polycarbonate, polyethylene or polypropylene plastics.
• Sealant cannot be painted over.
• Not suitable for below water-line seals unless used as a gasket which is held mechanically in compression.
• Not recommended for trafficable joints, such as open joints between deck planks.
• Not suitable for contact with petrol or distillate.
