For many Australians, sharing your property with possums is a fact of life. The trees and garden are their natural habitat and as a result, they can become a nuisance on your property. By using a Possum Nesting Box – you will be providing a new home for your unwanted guest and keeping it away from the roof and your garage.
By providing possums with a safe alternative home location, we have found that in most cases you would be able to relocate noisy possums from your home.
Possums are protected under the Wildlife Act 1975 and must not be harmed in any way or kept without approval from DELWP.
It is illegal to harass or interfere with possums.
A possum in your roof or eating your flowers can be very frustrating, but people and possums can live together successfully by providing a new home for possums.

The possum boxes are made out of a BC Hardwood, Exterior grade with an A-bond (Marine) glue-line.
Pestrol Ringtail Possum Nesting Box comes flat packed and will take approximately 10 minutes to assemble. You can either install it yourself or have it done professionally.
Make sure to find an appropriate location to place Ringtail Possum Nesting Box. When looking for a location, try to ensure that the possum box is not facing North through West. Possums do not like sunlight, the box should be placed in the area where it is not exposed to full sunlight and afternoon heat. The best location should be protected from the heat, wet winds and not in an open location.
A lot of different possum species prefer heights of 4 meters to have the protection from pets and give them privacy, though 6 to 8 meters would be preferred.
Spray inside the possum house with an insect repellent, as this will act as a deterrent against bees.

The Ringtail Possum Nesting Box doesn't require any painting or treatment, but you would need to find non-toxic paints in order to do so. The smell might be off putting to the possums, as they do have a much more keen sense of smell than we do.

When purchasing a nesting box you would want to allow space for the possum to easily climb in and out, a brushtail might have a little trouble squeezing itself into the Ringtail Possum Nesting Box

Good product and the sae as others I’d bought previously. The older ones have lasted well, even when falling 5meters from a tree when the securing method failed.
Great box. Easy to put together and seems great quality. Would be great if you could also add something which you could attach so that it can be put in a tree. I ended up making something out of a wire coat hanger with some old hose around it and then attaching it to the box. But better if supplied with the box.
Even some simple instructions would have been nice. Seems good quality and sturdy.
