Richgro Bug Killa Granular Insecticide

Keep your garden bug free with Richgro Bug Killa Granular Insecticide! A systemic granular insecticide to control a wide range of common garden insects!

Provides a minimum of 2 months of extended protection against a wide range of sucking insects on all your ornamental plants, including Roses, Azaleas, Camellias, Gardenias, and lilly pilly in the garden or in pots. Richgro Bug Killa is a systemic insecticide that is taken up by the plant’s roots to control pests. It also contains Iron and Zeolite which are beneficial to plant health, helping your ornamental plants grow taller and stronger, and making fertilizers more efficient.

Safer to use and more convenient than aphid and mealy bug sprays, Bug Killa is gentle on your plants. Choosing granules rather than a spray means there is no risk of scorching plant leaves on hot days, allowing you to give your plants complete protection against sucking insects even in the heat of summer. Watering after application increases penetration and allows faster take-up by the plant’s root system.

A 250g bottle treats up to 500 plants, making it an affordable and efficient solution for the home gardener. Its versatile nature makes it ideal for use in both garden beds and flower pots!

Does Bug Killa work on army worms and wooly aphids? The grubs are eating my Angels Trumpets and they’re relentless! The aphids are only infesting my Chinese Lantern at the moment and I am removing them by hand. White Oil kills them but it damages the leaves. Wendy asked on 14 February 2025

Hey Wendy,
Richgro Bug Killa Granular Insecticide is primarily designed to control a wide range of sucking insects on ornamental plants, such as aphids, mealybugs, and scale insects. It is not specifically labeled for controlling armyworms, which are typically found in lawns and are targeted by different products like Richgro Lawn Beetle & Grub Killa

How can I eradicate them effectively? I have way too many plants to spray them down individually. Something systemic for spidermites would be fabulous. Can I use this? Keely asked on 24 January 2025

Richgro Bug Killa Granular Insecticide targets a range of insect pests, but it is not specifically labeled for spider mites. Spider mites require a miticide or a systemic solution designed for their control. Always check the product label and consider consulting a local gardening expert for advice on systemic treatments for spider mites.

If I have one 10 litre pot, how many grams of granules should I use? Donna Murphy asked on 20 December 2024

Hi Donna, For a 10-litre pot, you should use 10 grams of Richgro Bug Killa Granular Insecticide. This is based on the application rate of 10 grams per plant for plants up to 1 meter in height. If your plant exceeds this height, you would need to add an additional 6 grams for each meter above that.
Make sure to sprinkle the granules evenly around the surface of the pot and water well after application to ensure proper absorption by the plant's roots. Always follow the product's label instructions for best results.

Hi, Will this kill weevils on recently planted grape vines and how much do i use for each plant? Thanks Simon asked on 28 November 2024

Hey Simon,
Richgro Bug Killa Granular Insecticide is a systemic insecticide designed to control sucking insects on ornamental plants. Its active ingredient, imidacloprid, targets pests like aphids, mealybugs, and scale insects. However, it is not specifically labeled for controlling weevils on grapevines. For plants up to 1 meter in height, the recommended application rate is 10 grams per plant, with an additional 6 grams for each meter of height beyond that. Prior to application, remove mulch and dead vegetation, moisten the soil surface, and sprinkle the product evenly around the drip zone. Water as usual after application to incorporate the product into the root zone. This provides at least 2 months of protection.

It's important to note that Richgro Bug Killa is intended for use on ornamental plants and is not recommended for edible crops like grapevines. Using it on grapevines could lead to residues in the fruit, making them unsafe for consumption. For weevil control on grapevines, consider using products specifically labeled for such use, and always follow the manufacturer's instructions and local regulations.

Consulting with a local agricultural extension office or a professional pest control advisor can provide guidance tailored to your specific situation.
