How to Install

Measure

• Required Length = Linear perimeter of the area.
• Required Width = Total width of the Ledge plus an additional 1 cm overhang for an open ledge.
• Where two r more pieces are required to cover the total width of the ledge, manage gaps between spikes to prevent bird entry.

Preparation

• Clean, disinfect and repair any damaged surfaces. Ensure surfaces are free from faeces, dirt, grease to achieve optimal bonding between spikes and surface.
• Use appropriate PPE when handling spikes and adhesives for safety. Remove any overhanging branches or excess foliage above the spiked surface to avoid nesting material building uo onto spikes.
• Prepare surface(s) in accordance with adhesive manufacturers guidelines.

Mounting Method

• Bond Polycarbonate Narrow Upright Bird Spikes only to dry clean surfaces.
• Apply a bead of chosen adhesive along the underside of the base. Firmly press and wriggle the spikes onto the surface to ensure maximum contact between surfaces.
  Ensure security of spike for recommended bonding period.
• VEXO spikes can also be installed with self-tapping screws for wood or metal surfaces.
• Use at least 3 screws per metre strip. Cable ties can also be used on structural beams for added security.
• When using bird spikes on conduit or overhead pipes, you can secure spike strips with UV resistant zip ties, making removal easier during repairs.

Adhesive Selection:
