The Pestrol Ultrasonic Duck Repeller is an effective and easy product you can use to keep ducks off your property. It uses ultrasonic sound and strobe light to scare away animals within its range. An optional audible setting is available if required. This duck repeller is portable and can either be plugged in for power or used with batteries.

The effective range is up to 15 metres for 170 degrees around the front o the device.
The primary feature of the duck repeller is the ultrasonic sound. This high-pressure sound is only slightly audible to humans. However, it is effective at startling and scaring away unwanted pests. Using a variable pulse generator, the unit emits a range of fluctuating ultrasonic sound waves to prevent pests from getting accustomed to the sound.
The Pestrol Duck Repellent operates continuously and has the option of using its built-in motion sensor that activates the unit when animals move into its coverage area. This area size is 24 x 15 metres = 360M2.
You can change the setting to be on continuously to aid in controlling smaller animals like rodents and birds.
Motion Sensor: The Motion Sensor will activate the ultrasonic and sonic sounds when it detects that ducks are in range.
Constant: The Constant setting will activate the ultrasonic and sonic noises and cycle through them at the range you fix at varying intervals. The motion detector will deactivate on this setting.
Continuous Sweep: The Continuous Sweep will activate a range of sonic and ultrasonic frequencies at random intervals. The motion detector will deactivate on this setting. This is helpful for repelling several different types of pests.
Pestrol Duck Repeller comes in a waterproof control box, which can be used outside when operated on batteries.
The Pestrol Ultrasonic Duck Repeller is designed for convenience and flexibility, and it is able to be powered with 4 x C cell batteries (not included) to ensure it can be placed wherever needed without reliance on mains power. The efficiency of battery usage varies based on the operational settings chosen and the frequency of activation by the motion sensor. Under typical conditions, the batteries are expected to provide power to the unit for a duration ranging from 4 to 12 weeks. This variability accounts for the natural fluctuations in pest activity and the corresponding response of the device. We recommend monitoring the device’s performance and adjusting its settings or placement as necessary to optimize battery life and effectiveness.
The Duck repeller is wall mountable and comes with screws and fasteners for this purpose if required.

If the chickens are within range of the Pestrol Ultrasonic Duck Repeller than, unfortunately yes they would be able to hear the unit alongside the ducks.

We haven't specifically tested the effects of the Pestrol Ultrasonic Duck Repeller on horses, but the settings for birds on this device is in a more audible range than some of the other functions, so it might cause the horses some distress, but it wouldn't be harmful to them.

It would depend where the dog spends most of her time. If you've got the Pestrol Ultrasonic Duck Repeller positioned outdoors, she shouldn't be able to hear the ultrasonic noise when it fires up if she's inside, as it's a sound based technology.
The setting you would have for ducks would unfortunately be heard by dogs as well, is if your dog spends most of her time outside, she may pick up on the sounds the unit is emitting.

Tricky to answer as it would depend on how often the unit would activate and what you have it set to (for example, if you had the Pestrol Ultrasonic Duck Repeller set to constant instead of Motion Sensor, it would deplete the battery quicker, as it would be constantly running, instead of going into it's standby mode on Motion Sensor) But you should get approximately 4-6 months battery life from this machine.

Arrived quickly after purchase. Sound isn’t as invasive on human ears as expected but the unit is approximately 25m from the house. Ducks still swimming in pool but does seem to be a reduction in numbers but a true test will be in winter as numbers usually reduced in warmer months.
Doesn’t Seem to work for the ducks in our pool, maybe they have superpowers! will try more settings but giving up hope.
Does this work for swans as well?

Hi while the unit seams to be working with our duck problem if we have the unit set on day or night the standby on the remote only works intermittently so we have to run it on 24 houris this normal
This is an excellent product.
We had a lot of trouble with ducks in our pool and pooping everywhere. Since we’ve had this alarm in our pool area we’ve had no ducks, they still come into our yard but won’t go near the pool.

To be honest Ime not sure if this worked at all
Seems to have worked – I had to get another charger section as that came open when I pulled it out of the power socket. Hence that was a little concerning at the time and gave me an electric shock to the hand.
The feedback that i received is that it works.
The Pestol Duck chaser seems to work well as the ducks have not come back I will keep my fingers crossed.
