You want to keep the Pestrol Outdoor Dominator Mosquito Control Trap away from people and pets to divert the mosquitoes attention away from you and to the trap so they can be effectively caught. While the unit will lure mosquitoes, if positioned directly next to you, the mozzies will still prefer to bite you rather than inspect the trap. Having the unit a few metres away will create a diversion to effectively catch and start breaking the breeding cycle and reducing the local population.

A trap like the Outdoor Dominator Mosquito Control trap uses a UV light as a lure, cross catch is going to happen with the device, and you will find some smaller moths inside the machine along with the mosquitoes. There is a grate above the fan blades to filter out some larger insects, but the gaps in this are 1cm x 1cm

The Outdoor Dominator Mosquito Control Trap is designed to work for Mosquitoes and other nocturnal insects as it's main attraction method is a UV light on the top of the machine.
This light wouldn't be all to visible for flies as they're more active during the day.
If you add a suitable lure into the trap compartment of the Dominator, you may have some success with flies, but we have some more suitable options available for flies within our range.

We live on a property with a creek behind the house and I used to be a bug zapper man.
I thought they got rid of all the bugs But we still had those little pesty Rutherglen bugs.
Well that was until we tried this beast.
It worked so well that a brought another 2.
We can now sit outside at night with no mosquitos bothering us and those pesty Rutherglen bugs are gone (well captured by the traps).
The bug zappers are now sitting in the shed gathering dust.
The motor was noisy but Pestrol sent a new motor and working perfectly now
Seems to work well, but noise level means it needs to away from people spaces
Great product and kills heaps of mozzies, midgees and grass moths
Well made and function well
I have had the unit for about two months, and it seems to have reduced the moth population. But I have 2 questions.
Once they have entered the trap below what Kills them?
And how long do we need to run it? 24 hours a day or at certain times?
We had the large zapper when living on the Gold coast. The zipper worked so well I was constantly emptying..sadly I left behind when we moved but cannot afford a new zapper.

Its catching thousands of Lawn grub moths. I’m using them as compost.
