Kookaburra Nesting Box – This nesting box provides an ideal substitute to a natural hollow for Kookaburras or large Kingfishers. Particularly in areas where such resources are lacking.
Kookaburras are almost exclusively hollow nesters, these “nesting hollows” may be pre-existing in trees (trunks or spouts) or dug into the nests of tree or ground termites, in creek banks, either cliffs or evening road-cuttings depending on the species concerned. However, these natural hollow nests are not always available. Hence, these artificial nests are important to offer them shelter.
Our nesting boxes come flat packed to keep the postage cost down, basic assembly is required. Simple to put together, all you’ll need is a screwdriver (preferably powered)!
