Understanding Systemic Insecticides

Opting for systemic insect control catapults you into an advantageous position compared to mere surface treatments. Once plants absorb these insecticides, they circulate it from root to tip, bestowing blanket protection. Not just assailants on the surface, but stealthy invaders inside also meet their match. The payoff? Extended, unwavering insect defense, healthier plants, and less frequent applications. Plus, rain or irrigation won’t rinse them off, making these treatments both eco-conscious and cost-savvy.

To Sum it Up

Dive into the world of Imidacloprid 200 Systemic Insecticide for unparalleled defense against pest onslaughts. Elevate your plant’s health and vibrancy with ease. Secure your pack now and embrace the transformative impact!

is this product suitable for woodworm infestation in poincianas and how is it applied Greg asked on 25 November 2024

Hey Greg,
Superway's Imidacloprid 200 Systemic Insecticide is a systemic insecticide effective against various pests in trees and ornamentals. However, its efficacy against wood-boring insects, such as those infesting Poinciana trees, can be limited. Wood-boring insects often reside deep within the wood, making it challenging for systemic treatments to reach them in sufficient concentrations.

The product label does not specifically list wood-boring insects as target pests.

For effective management of wood-boring insects in Poinciana trees, consider consulting with a certified arborist or pest management professional to explore targeted treatment options.

Always adhere to local regulations and guidelines when applying any pesticide.

For Citrus/Lemon Trees can you please let me know what the application rate is per litre of water and the witholding period recommended before harvest and how often. This is for the systemic/drenching method (not foliar spraying) please. thanks so much Damien Elder asked on 22 November 2024

Hey Damien,
For Superway's Imidacloprid 200 Systemic Insecticide, when using the systemic/drenching method on citrus or lemon trees:

Application Rate: Mix 6mL per litre of water.

Withholding Period: Allow at least 20 days before harvest after application.

Frequency: Apply as needed, but no more than once every 8 weeks, to manage pests effectively.

Always ensure the soil around the base of the tree is well-saturated to allow proper absorption, and follow all label instructions for safe and effective use.

How can you inject Imidacloprid into the stem? is it injected into the main truck or into the multiple branches at a certain height? Paul asked on 13 October 2024

Hey Paul,
To use Imidacloprid 200 Systemic Insecticide as a stem injection, this is what the directions for use advises;
Mixture Rate: 1.75L/1 L of water

Stem Injection: Drill holes 0.5 c to 1cm in diameter and 10cm deep at an angle of 30 degrees 1 to 1.5m above ground level. Drill one hold ber limb (or trunk in single trunked trees). Apply 5mL of mixture in each hole and seal the hole. Do not reapply in the same holes. Uptake of Imidacloprid 200 Systemic Insecticide, and therefore control of the pest in heavily infested heads already showing severe damage, will be slow and may be incomplete.

  8. If your Lilly Pilly Backyard Blisses are getting smashed by green beetles which is what will be destroying the plant bug wise.
These hard to see beetles until they drop on the ground after spraying the Lilly and with follow up sprays as directed. They have migrated from Nth Au in past years to Victoria. Smithii Varieties don’t get eaten.
This is your product answer to the one that Bunnings stopped selling, Although Y***s Advanced will do the same on the above beetle, Imidacloprid 200 is way cheaper in say 1tr or 5ltr concentrate. But all this is only iMO. I inserted the ***
