Executioner Bug Zapper – XXL is the big bertha, the largest outdoor Bug Zapper for Australian conditions. This Insect Zapping machine is the latest technology in Australia to combat the annoyance of insects whilst we try to enjoy our outdoor areas.
We have managed to reduce the wattage from 50W to 36W which makes it cheaper to run than our previous model, however, the globe technology has a greater attraction rate. This Bug Zapper provides heavy-duty protection for large backyards. This Bug Zapper is for larger outdoor areas and will assist in reducing any flying insects such as Mozzies, midgies and moths.
The Executioner Bug Zapper includes a 36W UV lamp that is mounted within a stylish and robust weatherproof casing. Like the other smaller insect zappers we sell, we recommend placing the unit above 2 metres to gain optimum results. Ensure that the unit is placed away from other competing light sources or human activity. The vertical grids mean the dead bugs drop directly from the unit, minimising cleaning like other units on the market that use the older style horizontal grids.
Insects simply get electrocuted when they touch the inner protected high voltage grid (Industry-leading innovative high voltage grid for durable use to ensure increased killing rat). The insects then drop into a removable dry storage chamber. Great to add to the garden for extra nutrients.
The UV lamp has been designed to produce a peak light output at a wavelength of 365nm in the UV-A band. Mosquitoes and other light-attracted pests are naturally attracted to this wavelength. Attracted pests include mosquitoes, moths & midges – pests that are most active from dusk till dawn.

No, the Executioner Bug Zapper - XXL won't be effective for bees. This unit uses a light in order to draw in insects, and is most effective at night when it's dark. During the day, when bees are active, the light will not be as alluring as it has to compete with the natural light from the sun.
Bees are an important part of our world, at Pestrol we recommend trying to find a beekeeper local to your area to relocate the hive if it is on your property.
Great answer from Pestrol : we need bees, No Bees : no food.
Some don't realise that we need some flies, mozzies, midges etc as they too fertilise plants AND are part of a long food chain.
And we do use a pestrol mozzie catcher and a few are still left to do their job.
If back yard spiders were not killed, these too would catch moth, mozzies etc.

The Executioner Bug Zapper - XXL does not have a light sensor installed in the device to automatically turn it on and off.

If the light is on for your Executioner Bug Zapper - XXL the electric grid should be running as well, there's no switch on the device it's always on when plugged into an outlet.
You can confirm the functionality of the zapper by using a rubber handle screwdriver to touch the electric grid to create a shock to see if the grid has an issue.

The Executioner Bug Zapper - XXL can work with flies in theory, but since the unit uses a light to attractant insects, and flies are typically most active during the day, the unit wouldn't be the most visible during those hours as it would have to compete with other sources of light.

quite the beast, on a heavy night it is zapping constantly and i’m loving it
Very disappointed. Certainly doesn’t do a good job where there is plenty of insects. Disappointed. It attracts them fantatsic however that’s not what I got it for.
Is this waterproof? Can I leave it outside?

Works great we notice when it’s not on as we are on a farm and have it on the back veranda adjoining the BBQ area.
Catches many moths, some mosquitoes, doesn’t seem to make much difference to their population.
It has significantly reduced the amount of mosquitoes on my back porch.
Has it got rid of them all? No.
But we had soo many before and it’s a a lot less so I’m still happy with the product.
This bad boy rocks!! Wasn’t on for 2 minutes and already had my first victim. Base is very easily twisted off to dispose of the evidence. Have used it every time I’ve gone to hang out the washing at night (sick and tired of doing the mozzie dance so the bastards can’t settle on me)
One of the best purchases I’ve made and I only have a small back yard.

Great zapper
Hi, after much review research we purchased the Executioner and were very hopeful when we received it. We set it up in our kitchen straight away. Within 10 minutes we had our first zap! I was impressed as I didn’t think there was any insects inside. We then attached the optional mosquito lure and put it up outside about 2m high. That evening there were plenty of sweet zapping sounds. One attached photo shows the bottom tray after one night, the other photo shows after a couple of nights. The Executioner is certainly doing its job. I don’t write reviews, but this was exceptional.
