A very popular leafy vegetable in Europe and Australia, this variety of Silverbeet grows easily and provides a continuous crop through the year. The stalks can be cooked and eaten like celery and the leaves can be eaten like spinach. This versatile vegetable is best planted through early spring to early autumn. Known for their health benefits, silverbeets are a great source of iron, vitamins A, C, K and calcium.

How to grow

Drop a few seeds down every 40cm in rows that are 12mm deep and 30cm apart. Eventually, thin them out to one plant every 40cm. Keep them well watered and reap a luscious harvest 8-12 weeks from sowing.
