This vigorous vegetable adds a distinct flavour to any dish. Eaten best fried or par-boiled, Okra can also be added to stews and soups. If taken care of, it produces a heavy crop. Use the DT Brown Okra Seeds to grow your own okra at home and add a distinct texture to many dishes. Okra is a Superfood and has a great nutritional content.
Sow the seeds 6mm deep in a seed tray or punnet, using a seed raising mix or compost. Keep the plant well-watered and moist. Thin out and transplant into final position when they are about 10cm tall. Space plants 50-60cm apart. Prepare the soil well by adding organic material and complete fertiliser.
