For use in and around homes, agricultural, commercial, and industrial buildings. A true block rat bait containing the anti-coagulant rat bait brodifacoum.

Containing the powerful active ingredient, Brodifacoum, the strongest, single-feeding anticoagulant on the market today. Ditrac is effective in controlling both rats and mice but works especially well to clean out persistent mouse infestations.

With its distinctive cog-like shape, is made with more than 16 human food-grade, inert ingredients for a flavor rats and mice can’t resist. This highly weatherable block bait easily fits in tight baiting places. A hole in the center of this 20g Blox lets you place it on bait securing rods in bait stations, or nail or wire it in place.

Yes, if a non-target animal ingests a block bait like Ditrac Blox Rodent Bait it would be harmful to them.

When using block baits, it is highly important to use these within a Bait Station, to reduce the risk of non-target animals taking and eating the bait.

Ditrac Blox Rodent Bait will have a shelf life of about 2-3 years when stored in the original container in a cool, dry place.

Does the rats in the attic die in place after eating. i.e. will I end up with carcasses in the attic rotting? Steven Hawksworth asked on 15 August 2024

Hey Steven,
It's hard to give a definitive answer to this question, when trying to bait with Ditrac Blox Rodent Bait, you are dealing with wild animals, and their behaviour can vary, but some commonly reported sightings of rodents that have ingested bait such as Ditrac is the anticoagulant causes a feeling of dehydration, so the animal will typically try and seek out a water source before the succumb to the bait. This would minimize the chance of them dying in the attic, but it's not a guarantee that they won't.

When dealing with an active infestation it's important that routine observation takes place to avoid issues like this one.

Hey Jason,
Typically in a rodent infestation, what you're seeing is only a small fraction of the numbers that are hiding away. If there have been bites taken from Ditrac Blox Rodent Bait, it could be from multiple rodents. If they're eating it, they will succumb to the active ingredient and perish.

Hello Isn't brodificaoum extremely toxic and has a high risk of secondary poisoning to native birds etc that may eat a baited rodent, or is this not an issue? Thanks Mario asked on 26 January 2024

With Ditrac Blox Rodent Bait, you are correct, it has a higher chance of secondary poisoning, and should only be used in situations where the infestation is severe, and there's little to no risk of non-target animals accessing the bait either directly or indirectly.

In cases where this is not possible, you would to use Contrac instead, which lessens the chance of secondary poisoning.
