Does this product stop spidermites and aphids Annette asked on 24 December 2024

Hi Annette, David Grays Systemic Bug Killer 250g is effective against aphids, as it contains imidacloprid, a systemic insecticide that protects plants by being absorbed through the roots. However, it is not specifically registered for use against spider mites. While imidacloprid may provide some control over certain pests, it is not the best choice for spider mite infestations.

From what ive read this product is effective on Thrips? Rick asked on 18 December 2024

Hey Rick,
David Grays Systemic Bug Killer contains imidacloprid, a systemic insecticide effective against various sucking insects. While imidacloprid can control certain thrips species, its efficacy varies. Research indicates that imidacloprid may be less effective against flower- and pollen-feeding thrips, such as the Western Flower Thrip.

Always follow the product label instructions and consult local agricultural extension services for guidance tailored to your situation.

Is it suitable for edibles Michelle Shanahan asked on 29 November 2024

Hey Michelle,
David Grays Systemic Bug Killer is formulated for ornamental plants and is not suitable for use on edible plants. Applying it to food crops may lead to unsafe residue levels. For insect control on edible plants, consider using products specifically labeled for such purposes, such as David Grays Vegetable Derris Dust, which is safe for vegetables and other edible plants.

Always adhere to the product's label instructions to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Does this treat mealy bug? Jo asked on 15 March 2024

Hey Jo,
Mealy Bugs are unfortunately not listed on the table for David Grays Systemic Bug Killer, but the active ingredient imidacloprid can treat that insect, I would be unsure what the mixing rate would be.

Carl answered on 26 March 2024 store manager

This was sold to me by a Plant Nursery specifically to treat mealy bugs
Just got it today and haven't used yet
Hopefully it will solve my problem with severely infected Hibiscus

Russell Mathews answered on 23 August 2024

Thanks for your message! The David Grays Systemic Bug Killer is effective against mealy bugs on Hibiscus. It works by being absorbed into the plant, targeting pests from within.

For best results, mix the product as directed, and apply it evenly to the soil around your Hibiscus. This will allow the plant to absorb the treatment and start targeting the mealy bugs. It should help control the infestation, but you may need to reapply as directed for severe cases.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out. We're here to help!
