Hey Denis,
David Grays Malathion Garden Spray is not designed to treat sooty mold, but it can help manage the pests that produce the honeydew which supports sooty mold growth.

Can this product be used on tomatoes? Avis asked on 2 February 2024

Hey Avis,
Yes, you can use David Grays Malathion Garden Spray on crop plants as well as ornamentals. When treating crops to be consumed, it is important to note the witholding period, which is explained on the product label to NOT pick fruit or vegetables for 4 days after spraying, and when harvested, wash thoroughly before consumption.

can you spray fruit trees for fruit fly with fruit on tree? dee amor asked on 22 January 2024

Hey Dee,
Yes you can spray David Grays Malathion Garden Spray on a fruit tree that is bearing fruit. It is important to note the witholding period, which is explained on the product label to NOT pick fruit or vegetabls for 4 days after spraying, and when harvested, wash thoroughly before consumption.

As an alternative, I would suggest using David Grays Fruit Fly Garden Spray instead, as it will use the same active ingredient, but this product you can mix into a paste using a bit of Vegemite as a protein source, which you can apply with a brush lower to the base of the tree to draw the fruit flies lower and away from the fruit.
