When treating crops to be consumed, it is important to note the witholding period, which is explained on the product label to NOT pick fruit or vegetables for 4 days after spraying, and when harvested, wash thoroughly before consumption.

    Yes you can spray David Grays Malathion Garden Spray on a fruit tree that is bearing fruit. It is important to note the witholding period, which is explained on the product label to NOT pick fruit or vegetabls for 4 days after spraying, and when harvested, wash thoroughly before consumption.

    As an alternative, I would suggest using David Grays Fruit Fly Garden Spray instead, as it will use the same active ingredient, but this product you can mix into a paste using a bit of Vegemite as a protein source, which you can apply with a brush lower to the base of the tree to draw the fruit flies lower and away from the fruit.
