AVITHOR uses Flame Shield Gel Technology™ to repel pest birds. AVITHOR Bird Away gel reflects light as a sparkle in the UV-A light spectrum. Since birds see light in the UV-A spectrum, they see the sparkle which resembles flames. This virtual ‘flame shield’ visually deters the birds from landing. When first applied, especially in high-pressure areas, some birds will challenge the flame shield, this is when the olfactory component of the gel comes into play. AVITHOR Bird Away contains herbal extracts in a natural product base. If the bird gets close, it is repelled by a strong herbal odour. In the presence of AVITHOR Bird Away, birds will also sound a warning signal to other birds, which provides additional auditory repellence.

The Bird Repellent Gel is best applied with the preloaded cups, as it will need to be replaced in roughly 2 years depending on the climate for the gel to remain effective. Paiting this onto a surface would not be advised as it will be a difficult task to remove the gel if applied directly to a surface.

Thank you. I bought some and put it one the tops of the verandah posts. Sparrows did not return. It's been up for about a month and they've definitely gone. Been trying to get rid of them for years!

Yes, you would need to remove the plastic cover off of the Bird Repellent Gel. This gel is a visual and olfactory deterrent for birds, leaving the plastic cover on will block the scent of the gel cups making it less effective of a deterrent. It is formulated to be durable, even in exposed locations, water shouldn't mix in with the gel, any excess will evaporate over time.

Absolutely worked for me and my situation with sparrows

I’ve had a problem with myna birds and a few others so I brought 1 packet to see if this worked and with great results within the first week so brought 2 more packets placed more around the house on the weekend and has worked a treat 100% happy thank you so much. The product appears to be deterring my peacocks from coming on the verandah but we still have small birds roosting in creeper around the verandah.
Placed on the patio area of unit. Certainly deterred the birds, one bird keeps getting through but his visits are less frequent. Would certainly recommend this product as an effective eco friendly bird control.
