AVITHOR uses Flame Shield Gel Technology™ to repel pest birds. AVITHOR Bird Away gel reflects light as a sparkle in the UV-A light spectrum. Since birds see light in the UV-A spectrum, they see the sparkle which resembles flames. This virtual ‘flame shield’ visually deters the birds from landing. When first applied, especially in high-pressure areas, some birds will challenge the flame shield, this is when the olfactory component of the gel comes into play. AVITHOR Bird Away contains herbal extracts in a natural product base. If the bird gets close, it is repelled by a strong herbal odour. In the presence of AVITHOR Bird Away, birds will also sound a warning signal to other birds, which provides additional auditory repellence.
AVITHOR Bird Away is non-toxic and non-harmful to birds. Most importantly, the birds do not make any contact with the gel at all. It works purely by visual and olfactory cues. When using Bird Repellent Gel as directed it would not be harmful to dogs and cats. Be sure to follow the guide on how to place the product for the best results.

Yes, you would need to remove the plastic cover off of the Bird Repellent Gel. This gel is a visual and olfactory deterrent for birds, leaving the plastic cover on will block the scent of the gel cups making it less effective of a deterrent. It is formulated to be durable, even in exposed locations, water shouldn't mix in with the gel, any excess will evaporate over time.

If you're needing to attach the Bird Repellent Gel to a slanted surface, the supplier recommends using a clear silicone based adhesive to attach the cup to the surface.

Bird Repellent Gel could lessen the amount of pigeons getting under the solar panels, but might not completely get rid of them. The gel uses 2 main repelling techniques to shoo birds away. One is a scent based smell, using essential oils, the gel cups will release an odour that is quite strong for the birds, and they won't like to hang around them. The second repelling feature the gel cups have is a special UV reflection that makes it appear as though the area is on fire to the birds, which will make them less likely to land. Please note; that this UV reflection will only be effective if there is sunlight available to reflect.

Blackbirds aren't specifically listed in the brochure for Bird Repellent Gel, but I have had some feedback from customers saying it has been successful in reducing the numbers in some cases.
Other products that could be of use would be D-Ter, which is another smell and taste deterrent that works on a wide variety of animals.

Commonly birds will dig up mulch and gardens while they're foraging for insects to eat another method of removing the birds would be to find the food source and try to eliminate that.

I’ve had a problem with myna birds and a few others so I brought 1 packet to see if this worked and with great results within the first week so brought 2 more packets placed more around the house on the weekend and has worked a treat 100% happy thank you so much. I now tell other people about this product and how well it works
Had problem of birds nesting under front doorstep used Birdway as directed guess what birds away 🙂
The product appears to be deterring my peacocks from coming on the verandah but we still have small birds roosting in creeper around the verandah.
Placed on the patio area of unit. Certainly deterred the birds, one bird keeps getting through but his visits are less frequent. Would certainly recommend this product as an effective eco friendly bird control.
Haven’t seen a Direct result from using them but they may have done something I’m not sure

The service from Pestrol is outstanding however the Birdaway has not worked on our apartment balcony railings. They sit right next to it. We have a growing crow population that make an aweful mess. Disappointed!!!

The bird repellent gel has been applied on top of exterior window and door frames and has successful stopped swallows from landing in these areas.
Having had a lot of trouble with swallows resting on the beams on my deck and nesting, we applied the bird repellent gel on most of the high beams and have not had any further trouble with the swallows. Admittedly it is only now just over four weeks so not sure how long the deterrent will last. Plus had no rain but the beams are in well covered areas.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the birds will not return for at least a year!
