Excellent product. Caught the mouse, that had been eluding us using cheap traps from Bunnings, on the first night. Humane as it had room for mouse to move about inside trap till morning. Easy to release.

If you’re trying to catch rats this trap is useless. The distance from the door to the trigger is shorter than the length of a rat so its tail is still in the doorway when triggered, meaning the door will never latch closed and the rat can escape. After feeding rats for several nights, this trap is in the bin.

Sad to hear that your experience with the trap was not ideal. Pestrol has been selling the Double Ended Rodent Trap for close to about 20 years, while it can be effective in majority of cases, we are dealing with wild animals, and with size and weight changes between species of rats (even just regular variability within the same species of rat) it can lead to a minority of cases where the rat could be too large for the unit to latch and lock properly. I have multiple trap types and this has been by far the most successful for me. Sure, it can only catch one pest at a time but one is more than none. The only thing is it’s a live catch trap so if you’re squeamish ……
One thing to keep in mind is the physical room that the trap requires. It doesn’t squeeze into places that mice like to be. It is what it is and it is.

Product & service was were both very good. DIsappointed the advertised item was not available when I first ordered it.
Caught a rat the first time I set it and was very impressed. However, I haven’t managed to catch one since. They seem to have worked out how it operates and set it off without being caught. Perhaps the trip mechanism is too sensitive and sets off with the slightest touch. May need a rework.
catching well
Well designed, perfectly functioning product but unfortunately not for long. Initially it helped to catch a dozen of bush rats in my backyard. However do not underestimate the intelligence of these little eared bandits. In couple of weeks they learned to avoid traps no matter how tasty was the bite inside them. As the result traps that are in perfect order remain empty and little eared bandits continue multiplying and operating with impunity.

Humane trap which actually works! So glad we found this one, as a major retailer only sells one useless plastic one which is so hard to make work. Caught our first mouse within a couple of hours and released it into the wild. Thanks Pestrol.
